The career of a hard-working researcher

“This is not a thesis, but is trying to be a Hypothesis.” (Kandisky).

It seems to me that to write is risky, as the written word freezes thought, but at least it provokes thought. In the same way, painting freezes in time a state of thought which kindles in me a will to get to the bottom of things, in order to offer to others their quintessence and complexity. It awakens the need to take up a brush again once the painting is finished.
Carole Dekeijser.

The career of a hard-working researcher

The paintings of my wife Carole Dekeijser were born of her observation and philosophical reflection on life. This ethico-philosophical choice is a proposition I have to offer, and not a truth that I would try to impose. It is good enough for her, and my family makes it theirs in turn.
It is then up to the reader to decide if he or she would associate him or herself fully with this choice, or just in part. It is a thought-base which comes from several conversations with scientists, philosophers, friends and the many wonderful anonymous people who came across our path.

We were each other’s main conversation partner, we learnt a lot, we learn still, and we will continue to learn. My wife was neither right nor wrong. This is her truth. This truth will turn with time into deeper and deeper instinctive wisdom, which is what I wish for her and for us.
Nobody could say she was wrong, because in the perception that we can have of our world, each has his or her truth. Everybody can be said to be right.

As long as they remain honest with themselves and avoid fleeing to seek refuge in a world of pre-established certitudes.

Michel Evrard-Thøelen, her husband.
